How to choose a hotel

Every traveler is looking for the best hotel, the hotel which will fully satisfy his expectations. Let us guide you in choice of venues for accommodation.

First criteria depends on the purpose of your trip, – it is location of the hotel. You are a business delegate going at important meetings or you are a tourist looking for the most fascinating sight-seeings – choose the hotel which is maximum close situated to the places of your interest.

Central hotels are convenient as for tourists, as for delegates, who have appointments in this area. Hotels located close to the main roads give easy access to all parts of the city and are convenient in case if you have appointments in different areas. Airport hotels are perfect choice for you if your trip is short and you have opportunity to arrange all the meetings inside of the hotel.

After you have picked up hotels convenient by location, please check the rates of each of them. Most of branded hotels have special offers dates and seasons, terms of payment and cancellation. The earlier you prepay your accommodation, the bigger discount you’ll get. This kind of rate is called ‘advanced purchase rate’. Please, note, that usually VAT is not included in rate of the room, and amount of VAT is different in each country.

Before making the prepayment we recommend you to get information about the cancellation polity. The most strict one doesn’t allow you to cancel the reservation of even to change the dates of stay, and the most flexible one – allows to cancel it before 16:00 of the day of arrival.

In some cases hotel gives you an opportunity not to prepay the accommodation in advance, but only to give the details of your credit card to guarantee it in case of non-cancellation and non-arrival.  Hotel may also block the amount of money equal to the price of accommodation. So while making a reservation, you should always clarify what actions will hotel take with your credit card – keep it only for the purpose of guarantee and charge in in case of no-show, or block (preauthorize) v sum immediately.

Next step while preparing for the trip is getting information about the level of services of the hotel. The quality and variety of services is related with the level of hotel (luxury, deluxe, 4 or 3 star, etc). You should find out which services and amenities are included in the room rate. Make a list of those which are most important for you. Check if the breakfast and access to swimming pool and mini-gym are included in room rate. Clarify the price of internet, option of 24-hour room service. Even such small ‘touches’ as iron and ironing board in the room, and free of charge daily newspaper make life of traveler more easy and comfortable! If you would like to enjoy minibar while your stay, don’t forget to ask the staff of the hotel about the terms of its use (should you make a deposit for it).
